Tottenham considering swap deal to complete transfer of Leeds United’s Archie Gray

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to complete a deal to sign Leeds United starboy Archie Gray - to do so, they could offer the Whites a swap deal that would see two Spurs players go the other way.

Speaking with Tottenham News, journalist Dan Bardell said: “It’s a deal that would make sense. I think we’re going to see these sorts of untraditional swaps this window with clubs looking to manipulate the market.

“Archie Gray feels like a player that would suit Tottenham and suit Ange Postecoglou. That would leave Skipp surplus to requirements, he’s not first choice anyway and Gray coming in would put him further down the pecking order.”

He rose to prominence at Chelsea and was part of the squad that won the Champions League in 2012, but he is perhaps best known for his time at Southampton - the Southwark native spent six seasons with the Saints, scoring five goals over the course of 192 appearances.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Bertrand said: “Just to clarify officially I will be retiring from football. It's been a little while but I get asked a lot of questions - ‘When are you coming back, what are you doing?’ So, just to make that official I am retiring and very much looking forward to the next steps in my career.”
