Indeed, almost half of the top 23 players in this year’s game are from the English top tier, with world class talents such as Erling Haaland and Casemiro having completed summer moves to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s disappointing first season back with Man Utd has seen him slip down the ratings - despite finishing the campaign as the third top goalscorer in the Premier League.

Courtois has now been labelled the best goalkeeper in the game - ranked higher than the likes of Neuer, Alisson and Oblak, with the latter previously topping the ratings in that position.

Finally, it is Benzema that has enjoyed the biggest increase as he has rocketed to the highest rated player on FIFA.

The Frenchman enjoyed a brilliant season last time out as he scored 44 goals in 46 matches.
