Here’s a look at England and Denmark’s injury news ahead of their clash on Thursday.

England will take on Denmark in their second game of Euro 2024 on Thursday, June 20, with a kick off time of 5pm GMT - let’s take a look at each team’s respective injury news.

In their first game of the tournament, England defeated Serbia by a score of 1-0. It was a cagey encounter, but Jude Bellingham was on hand to score the only goal of the game with a charging header.

Meanwhile, Denmark could only muster a draw against Slovenia, despite leading for most of the game. Christian Eriksen drew first blood, but the Danes were held to a stalemate after Erik Janza netted a late equaliser.

England injury news

England’s main injury concern is Luke Shaw, who missed out on their first game of the Euros - instead, Newcastle United captain Kieran Trippier took his place at left-back.

His manager at club level, Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag, who is working as a pundit at the Euros, said: “Luke Shaw will start playing once England get out of the group stages.”

While this should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Ten Hag is currently not overseeing Shaw’s progress or rehabilitation, it can give England fans a modicum of solace. Even if he is not fit to play against Denmark or Slovenia, he should be ready in time for the knockout stages of the competition.

Bukayo Saka was also an injury doubt at the beginning of the tournament, as was Manchester City’s John Stones - however, they both played and looked sharp against Serbia.

Denmark injury news

As things stand, the Danes have no major injury concerns to worry about. Former Chelsea academy graduate Andreas Christensen was considered a doubt before the tournament began, but he played the full 90 minutes against Slovenia - effectively quashing any fears that he may not be fully fit for the Euros.

They did not pick up any fresh injuries during their opening group game of the competition - as such, England will face a full-strength Denmark side on Thursday afternoon.
