At least 15 people have been injured, with one British man in life-threatening condition, after two tourist safari minibuses smash into each other in Antalya, Turkey

At least 15 people have been injured after two tourist minibuses crashed in the Manavgat district of Antalya, Turkey. Eleven UK holidaymakers are among those injured, with one 53-year-old man in a life-threatening condition, Turkish media confirmed on Thursday (2 May).

A witness claimed one of the semi-open vehicles smashed into the back of the other bus. It then swerved off the road and overturned, causing passengers to be thrown from the vehicle.

A bright pink overturned safari bus - with the words "Panther Safari" painted on the back - was left at the side of the road. According to reports, an Irish tourist was also hurt along with three staff working for the tour company.

Several victims were given first aid at the scene before being taken to nearby hospitals. Footage of the aftermath showed injured people lying on the floor and being treated. Others were seen sitting with blankets around their shoulders.

Several companies offer trips in the region to tourists wanting to see the countryside and other cultural sights. A Foreign Office spokesperson said: "We are providing consular support to a number of British nationals following an incident in Turkey, and are in contact with the local authorities."
