Lines have reopened at London Euston but disruption is still being felt by passengers following a fatality on the tracks.

British Transport Police have confirmed that a person died between Watford Junction and Bushey this morning (June 5). While emergency services worked at the scene, all services running to and from London Euston were paused.

Disruption has hit all services, including Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway and Southern trains. National Rail said in a service update: “Emergency services have now safely completed their work between Watford Junction and Bushey, and all lines have reopened. Whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.”

Services are expected to be majorly disrupted until round 1pm, but services might still be impacted thereafter. Overground services from London Euston to and from Watford Junction are not impacted.

Avanti West Coast said in an update: “All lines between Watford Junction and London Euston have now reopened following the emergency services responding to an incident this morning. Journeys to and from London Euston may still be cancelled, with delays and late starts expected as we allow for the service to recover.”
