‘Sassy’, ‘bubbly’ and ‘outgoing’ Jess White has promised to be ‘brutally honest’ during her time on ‘Love Island’ 2024.

A ‘Love Island’ contestant has proclaimed she is “hard work” to be with, adding that men “underestimate” her

Jess White, a 25-year-old retailer manager from Stockport, Manchester, is one of the contestants from the original line-up this year. In a pre-show interview with ITV, she said: “ I know what I want and I'm not easily pleased. When you’re a loud, outgoing woman, sometimes it can intimidate men - men don’t always want that. I think that can sometimes put people off me because I am quite loud and you can hear me before you see me. Some men love that though”

Other stars from the original line-up include rugby player Ciaran Davies, make-up artist Samantha Kenny, model Patsy Field, accounts manager Nicole Samuel, dancer and personal shopper Harriett Blackmore and semi-professional footballer Ronnie Vint whom White is currently paired up with. White went on to herself as a “sassy girl” in a pre-show interview with ITV. She added: “I think my friends would describe me as brutally honest. I think it’s a good trait because at least you know where you stand with me. I’m never going to let you leave the room without looking your best - I would want someone to tell me! They would describe me as quite uplifting, if you’re having a bad day then come and see me.”

White is following in her mum’s footsteps when it comes to looking for love on a dating show. Talking to reporters ahead of her ‘Love Island’ debut on June 3, she revealed a family history with reality television. She said: "So my mum went on – when she was younger – she went on the knockoff version of Blind Date.” It’s been reported by HeatWorld that the show she’s talking about is noughties dating show ‘Love On A Saturday Night’, which was hosted by Davina McCall in 2004. ‘Love on a Saturday Night’ was billed as a replacement to ‘Blind Date’, but it wasn’t as popular as the iconic dating show and was axed after two series.

White has also spoken about her relationship with her mum. When asked what she looks for in a prospective partner, she said: “I would say nice teeth, I love a set of white Turkey teeth but a good set of Turkey teeth. I would say personality traits, you have to be family orientated. I’m so close to my mum and I’d like my future partner to be really close with their family too.”

She added: “All my friends are in relationships, settled down with babies and I’m going to end up that aunt that rocks up at family parties and they say ‘she's still not met someone, she’s still going to Ibiza having a midlife crisis.’ I just want to meet somebody and to be able to do all of that stuff too.”

When asked what made her a catch White, who you can follow on Instagram @jessamywhite, said: “I’d say my personality. I’m quite bubbly and outgoing and I think I can make most people feel quite comfortable and that’s a nice thing to have in this day and age - to put people at ease and build a relationship that way.” ‘Love Island’ continues every Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2. Spin-off show ‘Aftersun’ also airs every Sunday at 10pm on ITV2.
