Taking to her Instagram account yesterday (Thursday May 2), the 25-year-old singer said: “"Last night I was attacked and mugged in London. Phone was taken. All brands waiting on content, please be patient with me. Anyone who needs to contact me please message this account." She also included a crying face and heart emoji.

Penfold, who describes herself as a content creator on Instagram, frequently shares updates with her followers. Her usual updates, however, include glamorous shots as she goes about her daily life or visits exotic locations and fun events.

The star, who lives in Manchester, became a fan favourite when she sang ‘Fell In Love With A Boy’ by Joss Stone in her first ‘X Factor’ audition. She went on to cover ‘Same Love’ by Macklemore at her judges house audition. Her performance of ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ by Stormzy was also loved by her mentor Simon Cowell during the competition.

She made it to the quarter finals, however, she was eliminated with the fewest public votes, finishing in 8th place.

When she was voted out, she accepted the situation with grace and paid tribute to her competitors and her mentor before she left. She said: “She said: "It wouldn't be the same without any of them. If there's one person in the room I've got to thank is Simon Cowell - he's really changed my life."
