Pop sensation Justin Timberlake has been arrested for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons, New York, TMZ has reported. The gossip outlet said the singer-songwriter is currently in custody at Sag Harbor Police Department.

The report said the ‘Cry Me A River’ singer went to meet friends at a hotel on Monday night (June 17) in Sag Harbor for dinner and left at around 12.30am. He was reportedly pulled over by the police ‘almost immediately’ after he took the wheel.

The pop star is scheduled to perform two shows in Chicago later this week, followed by back-to-back nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City next week. He is also expected to travel to cities including Boston, Baltimore, and Cleveland for The Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

The European leg, which begins in Krakow, Poland on July 26, includes performances in Birmingham, Manchester and two dates at The O2 in London this August.

The Grammy-winner, who first found fame as a member of boy band NSYNC, released his latest solo album, Everything I Thought It Was, in March.
