Actress Angela Thorne best known for her role as Marjory Frobisher in the BBC One sitcom ‘To The Manor Born’ has died ‘peacefully’ in her home at the age of 84. 

Her eldest son actor Rupert Penry-Jones released a statement that read “The actress Angela Thorne died peacefully at her home on the 16th of June.

"She was the beloved wife of Peter Penry Jones, and is survived by her two sons Rupert and Laurie Penry Jones and her grandchildren, Florence, Peter, Giorgio and Delilah. We will miss her very much.”

Angela starred alongside Penelope Keith and Richard DeVere from 1979 to 1981. She was the voice of the Queen in the animated film ‘The BFG’ from the Roald Dahl storybook. Angela also starred in TV programmes ‘Midsomer Murder’ and ‘Heartbeat’. 

The actress was married to Peter Penry-Jones on September 22 1967. Peter was also an actor and starred in TV series Poirot, Kavanagh QC and Midsomer Murder. The couple were believed to be deeply devoted until he died from bowel cancer in 2009. 

Angela had an estimated net worth of $5 million which will presumably be shared between her children and grandchildren.

Angela and Peter had two sons Rupert Penry-Jones and Laurence Penry-Jones who followed in their parents footsteps and both became actors. 

Rupert is a well known actor and has featured in TV and film. He is best known for his role as Adam Carter in TV series Spooks and he also starred as Mayor Don Mitchell, Jr. in DC’s 'The Batman' alongside Robert Pattison. 

The actor married Irish actress Dervla Kirwan after meeting on the set of a play ‘Dangerous Corner’. They share two children Florence and Peter. The actress has had major roles in ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’ and ‘Ballykissangel’.

Younger brother Laurence starred as Adam Duke in TV series ‘Waking the Dead’ and ‘The Bill’. The actor hasn't had any major roles since 2016. Laurence married fellow actress Polly Walker who is famous for her roles in ‘Line of Duty,’ ‘Rome’ and the film Clash of the Titans.’ The couple are parents to Georgia and Delilah.
