Good Morning Britain viewers have been left confused following reports of host Ranvir Singh “quitting” her role on the morning show.

Has Ranvir Singh quit Good Morning Britain?

Singh has stepped down as Good Morning Britain’s political editor, however she has not quit the show in its entirety.

According to a source, Singh left the position in December, but she will remain as one of the regular presenters on the morning show, alongside Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Ben Shepard.

Speaking to the Sun, a source said: “Ranvir is ready for a new challenge at Good Morning Britain and she wants a bigger role within the team.

“She quietly stepped down as the political editor of the show in anticipation of having a more substantial part to play.

“Ranvir covers for Susanna Reid when she is away and this week has stepped into her shoes during half term. But she wants more and the bosses at GMB are clamouring to give it to her.

“She is a hugely popular member of GMB and keeping Ranvir on board is something everyone wants.

“Ranvir is a real talent and as well as her work on GMB, Loose Women and Lorraine, when she steps in to cover, she also has a new ITV game show launching this year called Riddiculous.

“However, to keep her the job - and pay - will have to be right.”

Singh joined the ITV programme during its launch in 2014 and became the political editor in 2017.

Who is Ranvir Singh?

Singh is an English journalist and TV presenter, best known for her hosting position on Good Morning Britain.

She was born on 11 August 1997 in Lancashire. She graduated from the University of Lancaster with a degree in English and Philosophy before going on to earn a postgraduate degree in journalism at the School of Journalism, Media and Communication, University of Central Lancashire.

Singh began her journalistic career in 2002 after joining BBC Radio Lancashire, before moving on to BBC Radio Manchester to cover the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

As well as starring on Good Morning Britain, Singh has also appeared on The Martin Lewis Money Show as a co-presenter and has been a guest presenter on Loose Women since 2020.

She has also hosted several series, including the recent documentary film Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile.

In 2020, Singh took part in the 18th series of the dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered up with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. The two managed to reach the semi-final of the show and placed fifth overall in the competition.

Singh was married to Ranjeet Singh Dehal however shortly prior to appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, she announced that the two were no longer together, having been married to Dehal for eight years.

At the time she had said that she wouldn’t mind being struck by the Strictly curse, and added: “Well, I am single!”

Singh hasn’t spoken about the reasons behind the divorce, she admitted to having looked through her husband’s phone to Good Morning Britain co-host Ben Shepard in 2019.

When Shepard asked if that was the reason why she and Dehal were no longer together, Singh said: “I can’t answer that question but I have always thought that if you ever feel you need to do that then the relationship is over because you obviously don’t trust that person.”

As of December 2021, Singh has been in a relationship with Louis Church, who was a production secretary for Strictly Come Dancing during Singh’s season.
