What is Beyond Reasonable Doubt: Britain’s Rape Crisis about?

Panorama looks at rape cases being investigated by Derbyshire Police to find out why only 1% of reported rapes in England and Wales end with a conviction.

The filming took place over the course of more than 18 months and follows five people, who have reported rape on their journey through the criminal justice system.

It also follows the detectives at Derbyshire Police who are investigating these cases.

The episode includes ‘Sam’, who says she was raped by a stranger after a night out.

It also features the case of two sisters who say they were repeatedly raped by their father as children and whose case has already been turned down by the Crown Prosecution Service.
