In an Instagram post yesterday (May 8), Fury, who is engaged to Molly-Mae Hague whom he met on the show and now shares daughter Bambi with, announced that he has landed a role in upcoming film called ‘The Debt Inherited’.

He will star alongside ‘Peaky Blinders’ actor Paul Anderson while he makes his acting debut. The black comedy crime film, written by Niki Sheldrake, focuses on two brothers called Colin and Stanley who must pay their late father’s debts to a loan shark called Maggie. The synopsis says the pair “become involved in a criminal underworld and entangled in a web of blackmail and deceit with a host of insalubrious characters,” according to ‘Variety’. As part of the film, Fury will play the role of a character called Johnny who is one of Maggie’s henchmen.

Meanwhile, ‘Peaky Blinders’ actor Anderson will play a man called Terry. ‘Once Upon A Time In London’ star Leo Gregory is also set to appear in the film.

Sharing the news on Instagram for his 5.4 million followers, by sharing a screenshot of the ‘Variety’ article, Fury wrote: “THE DEBT INHERITED. PEOPLE DIE. DEBTS DON’T. So excited to announce I’ll be making my acting debut in - THE DEBT INHERITED. Great cast, cannot wait to start shooting. Massive thanks to @dannysawaf and @oceanastudios looking forward to working with you all.”

Fury also reposted the snap to his Instagram Story and explained that it was “A massive goal of mine achieved…” Fury’s fans and ollowers took to the comments section of his post to express their support for him and offer their congratulations.

Sports photographer Lee Hamilton-Cooper wrote: “Love it mate! Well done!”. Another pal said: “Mate!! This is mega!! Buzzing for you! Can’t wait for it.” One more fan added: “Congratulations Tommy on acting career and making big moves, that's what I'm talking about.”

The film will mark the directorial debut of Oceana CEO Danny Sawaf. Dubai-based distribution and production outfit Oceana, whose credits include “Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend,” starring Gabriel Byrne and Mira Sorvino, “Monstrous,” starring Christina Ricci, and “Terrifier 2,” will launch sales on “The Debt Inherited” at the Cannes Film Market. The main parts of brothers Colin and Stanley are yet to be cast for the film, and it’s not known when production will begin or when the film could be released.

Sawaf told ‘Variety’: “The script is operatic and the tone is a not-so-subtle cluster of neuroticism, dismay and quintessential British dark humor. It has universal themes of survival engulfed in a lurking Kafka-esque feeling of high-stakes and hysterical satire with events unfolding in unimaginable ways. People die, debts don’t – and I can’t wait to bring this story to life.”
